Bayern defender Pavard in quarantine after positive coronavirus test

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is in quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus, the Bundesliga leaders said on Thursday.

Bayern said the player “is doing well” and didn’t give any other detail but due to quarantine rules he’s set to miss the Bundesliga clash at Frankfurt on Saturday and the Champions League last of 16 first leg at Lazio on February 23.

Pavard is the sixth Bayern player to test positive for the coronavirus. Others were Niklas Suele, Thomas Mueller, Leon Goretzka, Javi Martinez, and Joshua Zirkzee who is now at Italian side Parma.
