Nawabshah (HRNW) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad (SBA) Abrar Ahmad Jaffar inaugurated polio campaign on Friday by administering polio drops to children at Government Nadir Shah Dispensary at Jam Sahib road, the 7-dayer anti-polio campaign in the district will be carried out from 29 of this month.
On this occasion, Additional District Health Officer Dr Asadullah Dahri, Dr Umar Jamali, District focal person on Polio Dr Allah Bux Rajpar, Dr Ameena Brohi and other officers of the health department were also accompanied with the Deputy Commissioner.
Addressing to the inaugural ceremony, SBA’s DC Abrar Ahmad Jaffar said that it is our national cause to succeed the anti-polio campaigns, and added, it is a big misfortune for us that polio virus still exists in Pakistan as well as our neighboring country, Afghanistan and our future assets still suffer of this disease due to some weaknesses.
He directed the health officers that every child aged up to 5 years must be administered polio drops at their doorsteps. While on this occasion, the district focal person on Polio Dr Allah Bux Rajpar briefed the Deputy Commissioner that 958 polio teams have been initiated to administer polio drops to a target of more than 3 lac 34 thousand children throughout the district SBA.
