Karachi grain market closed for third day, shopkeepers protest continue

KARACHI: (HRNW) Karachi’s main grain market remained closed for a third day. The Wholesale Grocers’ Association says that it is not possible to sell goods on the price lists of 219. Workers are also worried about the closure of the market.
Traders say flour, pulses, sugar and other vegetables have become more expensive, but the district government insists that they be sold at a price of 2,019 which is not possible. The Wholesale Grocers’ Association has announced that the strike will continue until new grocery lists are released.
