Steel Mills Corruption Reference, Court acquits all accused

KARACHI: (HRNW) The Karachi Accountability Court (KAC) has ruled on the reference of corruption in steel mills after 11 years.

The court honorably acquitted all the accused on the ground of suspicion.

The Steel Mills Corruption Reference was established in 2012. The accused included Samin Asghar, Asghar Jamil Rizvi, Chaudhry Shafiq Abbas, Tariq Irshad and others.

According to the NAB prosecution, the accused had caused a loss of more than Rs 13 million to the steel mills by corrupting the contracts.
