Lockdown in Sindh from tomorrow till August 8

KARACHI: (HRNW) The Sindh government has announced a partial lockdown in the entire province including Karachi from tomorrow to August 8. The lockdown comes amid growing cases of the corona virus. The Sindh Chief Minister has appealed to the people to cooperate during the lockdown. During the lockdown, intercity transport and retail markets will remain closed while students’ examinations have also been postponed.
A meeting of Corona Task Force chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah decided to lock down the province.
The Sindh Chief Minister said in a press conference that the cabinet would only monitor the lockdown for the next nine days. Media representatives will be allowed to work with masks. For the next nine days, everyone will pay attention to the corona vaccine. The Chief Minister directed the citizens not to leave their homes unnecessarily.
Murad Ali Shah said that the government had made a mistake and strict measures should have been taken first. Asad Umar and Dr. Faisal Sultan have assured full cooperation.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that there would be no scheduled examinations next week. Those who do not get vaccinated will not be paid. Export Industry and Vaccination Centers will remain open. Grocery, bakery and vegetable shops will be open until 6 p.m.
