Dengue cases increase in the country, 3 deaths in Lahore

Lahore (HRNW) Dengue cases have increased in the last 24 hours in the country while three people have died in Lahore.

According to the report issued by the Punjab Health Department, the number of dengue cases in Lahore has reached 3,666 while in Punjab it has reached 4,876. In other 35 cities of the province, 96 new cases have been reported in 24 hours.

626 dengue patients are being treated in Lahore hospitals while 14 children suffering from dengue fever are being treated in Children’s Hospital. Dengue wards of seven major hospitals in Lahore including General Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Gangaram Hospital and Services Hospital have been completely filled.

The total number of cases in Islamabad has reached 1403. Yesterday, 61 people suffering from dengue fever were brought to the hospital in the federal capital, while 42 cases were reported in rural areas and 19 in urban areas.

Five people have been killed in Islamabad this season, while the situation in rural areas is critical, with 937 people affected so far.

In Rawalpindi, 58 people fell victim to the dengue virus in 24 hours. 20 patients were admitted in Holy Family, 21 in Benazir Hospital and 17 in DHQ. The total number of patients in the city reached 863.

In Karachi, 18 dengue patients were found in 24 hours, while in Hyderabad 9 and Mirpur Khas 11 people were infected with dengue virus. The total number of people affected was 38.

So far this month 492 cases have been reported in Sindh while 6 deaths due to dengue have been reported in Sindh this year.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 198 new cases in a single day. The number of people infected with the virus in the province has risen to more than 3,000 and so far three patients have died.
