Sindh Assembly passes resolution on protection of residential buildings

Karachi (HRNW) The Sindh Assembly passed a resolution by a majority vote to prevent housing projects from collapsing. The opposition protested against the resolution and tore up copies of it.

MQM Pakistan Assembly member Muhammad Hussain said that provincial minister Nasir Hussain Shah had told the opposition that they were bringing a resolution on Nusla Tower.

He further added that the entire government resolution does not even mention Nusla Tower.

PTI’s Khurram Sherzaman said that sentiments and double standards should not be resorted to on the issue of Nusla Tower.

Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani said the resolution not only protected the buildings but also called for action against those involved.

He also said that the resolution is a ray of hope for those who are worried about the roof being torn down, which calls for legislation to regularize buildings.
