Karachi (HRNW) : On the direction of Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla, a road checking campaign has been launched in Karachi to recover tax from tax defaulting vehicles. Road checking campaign will continue at 37 places in Karachi. Ten teams from the Excise and Taxation Department are engaged in checking at various places in the city. These places include Korangi Industrial Area, Brook Chowrangi, Singer Chowrangi, DHA Cemetery, Sunset Boulevard Road, Toba Mosque, Site Area, Manghopir Road, Banaras Chowrangi, Hub River Road, Mazar-e-Quaid, Shahra-e-Qaedin, Muslimabad, Gulistan School. , Kharadar, Kemari, Queens Road, Clifton Bath Island, Shaheen Complex, PIDC, My Kalachi Bypass, Malir Cantonment, Landhi Industrial Area, Saudabad Road, Khokhrapar, PIB Colony, Teen Hatti, Soldier Bazaar , Lasbela, Johar Chowrangi, Metro Cash & Carry, Time Square, Pahlawan Goth, FB Area, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad and North Karachi.

On the first day of the road checking campaign, 1423 vehicles were checked and papers of 212 vehicles were confiscated. A total of Rs. 365741 tax has been collected. In a statement, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, provincial minister for Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Control Department & Parliamentary Affairs & Food has said in a statement that Road Checking campaign would be continued against the owners of tax defaulting vehicles till November 26 and he has asked the owners of the vehicles to deposit their due taxes to avoid any untoward situation. He further said that in the first phase, road checking campaign against the owners of tax defaulting vehicles was started in Karachi while in the next phase, the campaign against tax defaulting vehicles would be started in other areas of Sindh.

Mukesh Kumar Chawla asked vehicle owners that being civilized and law abiding citizens they must pay their taxes on time.
