National security adviser says no risk of resurgence of terrorism in country

ISLAMABAD : (HRNW) National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf on Friday said that there was no risk of resurgence of terrorism in the country as the massive capacity buildup of security forces had ensured defence of the country against all threats.

He said this while addressing the session on ‘Importance of Sustainable Development Goals for National Security in the Context of Current Regional Development’ during the Sustainable Development Conference in Islamabad, said Radio Pakistan.

The Advisor said the country needs a concerted whole of a national approach to end intolerance from the society and stigmatise violence or taking the law into hands by extremist factions, as a taboo.

On November 23, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had remarked that the “battle-hardened” Pakistan Army was ready to “defend the motherland at all costs”.

“We are a battle-hardened army that has rendered innumerable sacrifices in the line of duty and are ready to defend our motherland at all costs,” Gen Bajwa had said while meeting the forward troops in Bedian.
