Karachi (HRNW) The Meteorological Department has forecast strong winds for Karachi and south Balochistan beginning Wednesday, February 2.

The winds blowing at a speed of 25 knot (44km) and gusting to 30 knot (56km) can damage “loose and vulnerable” structures, the Met department says.

You could also expect a lot of dust and the weather will turn comparatively cold. The city will experience almost the same weather conditions people saw in mid-January.

The strong winds will blow until Thursday, February 3.

During this period the sea would be rough. The Met department has advised fishermen to avoid hazards.

Cold westerly winds can cause the temperatures in Sindh and Balochistan to drop to as low as between 3 and 5 degrees Celsius at some places.

The minimum temperature in Karachi will likely drop to 12 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms are likely to hit upper and central parts of the country on Wednesday and Thursday.
