Mansehra man who shot five transgender persons arrested

Mansehra (HRNW) The Mansehra police have arrested and booked a man, identified as Sabteen Khan, for opening fire on five transgender persons inside their house in the Upper Channia area late Sunday night. He initially fled from the crime scene but was later arrested.

Four transgender persons, identified as Sumiro, Tulsi, Muna and Kaif, said to be in critical condition, have been moved to the Ayub Medical Hospital, Mansehra SP Operations Jamil Akhter said.

They were first admitted at the King Abdullah Hospital but are being taken to Abbottabad for some important surgeries.

At a media briefing on Monday, Akhter revealed that Khan was temporarily living with the transgender persons and opened fire when another man, a friend of one of the transgender persons, visited.

The SP said that an FIR, at the city police station, has been registered under Section 324 (attempt to murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The suspect is being questioned and further investigation is underway, he added.
