Chaudhry Shujaat brushes off ‘horse-trading’ allegations

Lahore (HRNW) Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has rejected the government claims that PTI MNAs were being bought by the opposition to vote against Imran Khan.

Terming the speculations as “propaganda,” Shujaat on Friday said this will be the “first” no-confidence movement in which “no one is buying or selling votes.”

The government has been alleging that the opposition was involved in horse-trading ahead of the no-confidence motion.

The PML-Q leader also said it was the first time that the opposition and the government are holding rallies on the same issue.

“I am appealing once again that opposition and the government should cancel their public gatherings,” he said. “If someone is dead or killed then everyone will regret it.”

Talking about federal ministers’ statement on voting against Imran Khan, the former prime minister said that if a voter decides to cast vote then no one should stop him.
