Lahore (HRNW) The Federal Investigation Agency’s cybercrime cell has arrested a 50-year-old man, former government officer, for harassing and blackmailing a young woman online in Lahore.
According to the complainant, Saleem befriended her on Facebook and lied about his age. “He video called and filmed inappropriate videos of the young woman,” the FIR stated.
The police said that the suspect wanted to marry the woman and blackmailed her when she refused.
Saleem, on the other hand, has claimed that the complainant was aware of his age and “just didn’t want to commit to him”. The videos, he added, were shot by her herself too.
The cybercrime cell has lodged a case against the suspect and begun questioning him. He has been booked under sections of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
