Students clash causes traffic delays at Karachi’s University Road

Karachi (HRNW) A scuffle broke out between two student groups of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology (FUAST) at Karachi’s University Road on Monday, causing traffic delays on the key artery of the city.

The two groups, Pakhtoon Student Federation (PSF) and Imamia Student Organization (ISO), blocked the road Tuesday noon.

The blockade caused a massive traffic jam in the area.

The students pelted each other with stones and charged against the rivals with batons on the road. Several students also attacked a few people stuck in the traffic.

A heavy contingent of police reached the area after which the students fled. Police and Rangers have started patrolling the area and inside the campus.

According to police, a dispute between the two groups was first reported on Monday. The matter escalated into a violent clash. No arrests have been made so far.
