Soldier martyred, six terrorists killed in Sibi

QUETTA: (HRNW) One soldier has been martyred and two others have been injured, whereas at least six suspected terrorists belonging to the banned Baloch National Army (BNA) have been killed in heavy exchange of fire during an operation conducted by the security forces.

A statement issued by the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the security forces, on information about the presence of terrorists in the general area Nagao Mountains, near Sibi, Balochistan, conducted an operation to apprehend them.

It said that once the troops started clearance operations in the area, terrorists tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire onto security forces.

However, security forces returned fire, and in heavy exchange of fire six terrorists belonging to the BNA including Naseeb Ullah Bangulzai alias Jahangir, Pir Jan, and Rakai Kalhoi were killed.

“These terrorists were involved in recent terrorist incidents in Sibi and surroundings and were also linked to the January 20 blast in Anarkali, Lahore, ” the ISPR said adding that In addition, arms and ammunition have also been recovered which were intended to be used by the terrorists for disrupting peace and security in the area.

During the operation, a valiant son of the soil, Sepoy Nisar embraced shahadat while another two soldiers got injured.

The ISPR said security forces remained determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan.
