Karachi (HRNW) The KDA estate and enforcement department has dismantled illegal constructions and stopped the illegal sale of state land to the general public in sectors 10/7 and 13/2 of Scheme 41 in Surjani Town.
The illegal constructions were being carried out with the connivance of notorious land grabber Aleem alias ‘Mulla’, KDA Director Enforcement Jamil Baloch told media.
Baloch says Aleem Mulla had encroached around 50-acres of KDA land in sectors 10/7 and 13/2.
The KDA official said the land grabber had illegally demarcated the government land into different plots categories of 120-and 240-square yards. “He was selling out the illegally demarcated plots, some with concrete structures, to the general public,” he added.
The land grabber had established booking and real estate offices in sectors 10/7 and 13/2 for scamming the public.
The KDA director said that land grabber Aleem Mulla along with his accomplices had been illegally demarcating the government land for six months.
Some of the officials at Surjani Town Scheme 41 site office were patronising the land grabber as he occupied more and more state land, said the director.
KDA Director-General Muhammad Ali Shah made some transfers and postings in the authority after taking the charge a month ago.
The KDA carried out anti-encroachment operations in the same sectors in the past as well, but they failed to protect the KDA land from land grabbers for a long time due to a lack of planning.
The estate director says the KDA is planning to auction the retrieved land launching low-cost housing schemes.
“In this way, we can permanently save the land from the land grabbers,” he said adding the balloting process will increase the authority’s revenue as well.
The KDA estate and enforcement department launched the anti-encroachment operation in Surjani Town Scheme-41 against the land grabbers a week ago.
