Karachi: Two members of car theft gang arrested

Karachi (HRNW) Karachi Police Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) arrested two suspects of the vehicle theft gang by affixing fake lawyer’s plates.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell Muhammad Tariq Nawaz, the staff of AVLC North Nazimabad Division arrested two accused Shabir Odh and Shanish Kumar and recovered four cars and hashish.

The accused were wanted by Karachi police in dozens of cases of habitual criminals and car thefts from Karachi.

Four accomplices of the accused KK were arrested by the AVLC in January 2022 during a police encounter while they were still in jail.

The accused, with the help of their accomplices, steal cars from Karachi and sell them in Balochistan.

The car number AKR-998 Suzuki Alto recovered from the possession of the accused has fake number plate of Advocate High Court while the original registration number is AQQ-162. The vehicle was stolen from Hyderi Market police station and case number 224/22 has been registered against it.

Car number ASQ-564 Toyota Corolla was stolen from Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. The case number is 194/2022.

Car number ANS-176 maker Kore is stolen from Ranipur police station, Khairpur district, whose case is number 54/2022.

Car number AEF-882 was stolen from Suzuki Cultus police station supermarket, the case number is 127/2022.

Fugitive accomplices of the accused are being raided for further arrest.
