Karachi (HRNW) Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Shah has directed to carry out strict operation against those who steal water from Water Board lines.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nasir Hussain Shah in which he also directed measures for protection from environmental impacts on illegal extraction of ground water.
The provincial minister said that the operation would be carried out with the help of law enforcement agencies, commissioners, deputy commissioners and subordinate officers.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that Karachi Water and Sewerage Board should solve the problem of billing and timely delivery of water bills and warning should be issued to the defaulters.
He also directed that despite warnings, connections should be disconnected for non-payment and those involved in water theft should be arrested by filing a case against them in accordance with the law.
He also said that effective measures should be taken to prevent leakage from water board lines.
