Karachi (HRNW) Prof. Athar Ata, Vice Chancellor, Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology, took over as Vice Chancellor on Wednesday, three months after the issuance of his notification.
Prof. Athar Ata is a graduate of Karachi University. He did his PhD in Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry and is currently a professor at the University of Winnipeg, Canada. He is also a Canadian citizen.
The President had approved a special increase of Rs 5 lakh in his salary as he was not willing to come for a lower salary but the President had approved to increase his salary to Rs 12 lakh per month.
