Karachi (HRNW) Sindh Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has released the details of tax collection till August in the current financial year and told that a total of Rs 21146.062 million tax was collected during July and August. Provincial Minister for Excise , Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said in a statement that Rs. 20364.979 million rupees tax was collected during the same period in last financial year. He further said that Rs.
1562.133 million was collected in motor vehicle tax and Rs 18553.457 million rupees was collected in infrastructure cess.
Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that Rs. 60.873 million rupees in professional tax and Rs 1.864 million was collected in the form of cotton fee. Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that despite the heavy rains, the overall situation of tax collection had been satisfactory.
He said that depositing taxes was a national duty and every law abiding citizen should pay his due taxes on time. He also asked tax defaulters to take advantage of online tax filing facility to pay their taxes.
