Street crimes on the rise in Karachi, IGP summons emergency meeting

Karachi (HRNW) Street crime has witnessed a sharp increase in Karachi as almost 263 incidents were reported daily in the city, according to Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) report.

According to the report issued by CPLC, almost 263 incidents were reported daily basis in the month of August, showing that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to overcome criminal activities in the metropolis.

While quoting figures from the Karachi police database, the report revealed that robbers have killed 44 people were killed in various incidents of street crimes in one month.

Inspector-General (IG) of Police Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has summoned an emergency meeting over the rising street crimes in Karachi.

According to details, the IG Sindh has summoned relevant police officials Additional Inspector-General (AIG) office in the metropolis over rising street crimes. All police officials are directed to attend the meeting.

The meeting will discuss the rising incidents of killings in robbery resistance while the matter of installation of cameras in police uniforms will also come under discussion.
