Karachi (HRNW) Pridi Police arrested 3 senior inspectors of Sindh Building Control Authority for demanding Rs 40 lakh extortion from the builder of an under-construction building in Karachi’s Sadar area.
According to SSP South Asad Raza, the arrested officers include 3 senior building inspectors Umeer Karim, Amin and Zafar alias Supari. Deputy Director Syed Owais Hussain and Zia alias Kala Farar are.
The arrested and absconding accused demanded Rs 40 lakh from the builder of the building under construction on MA Jinnah Road. 5 lakhs was collected in the first phase. When the accused came to collect the outstanding amount of alimony, they were arrested.
A case of the incident has been registered in Pardi police station under the complaint of Syed Bilal Najeeb. Extortion and terrorism provisions have been added to the case.
