Mobile phone service to remain suspended in Punjab during Muharram

LAHORE (HRNW) – Besides deputing army and Rangers in Punjab’s 13 sensitive districts during Muharram-ul-Haram, the mobile services will also remain suspended on Ashura, according to the Punjab Home Department.

The military will be deputed in these sensitive districts that include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Sahiwal, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Mobile phone services will remain suspended in these districts on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The Punjab Home Department has corresponded with the federal government for the deployment of 73 army and 80 Rangers companies.

Moreover, the district control rooms have been established in the sensitive districts that would be connected to the provincial intelligence joint center.
