Karachi (HRNW) Korangi police arrested the accused who demanded extortion from businessmen. According to SSP Korangi Hasan Sardar, the arrested accused Farhan along with his absconding accomplice had demanded 20 lakhs from the businessman. The accused called the businessman continuously from different numbers and demanded 20 lakhs sometimes 30 lakhs.
Hassan Sardar said that the accused threatened to kill the businessman and his family and fired at the businessman’s shop. A case was registered against the extortionists on the complaint of the businessman in the Zaman Town police station.
Special task was given to SSH to Korangi Industrial Area to arrest the accused. SHO Korangi Industrial Area Aurangzeb Khattak arrested the accused along with the technical team. The arrested accused was also involved in extortion and other criminal activities. Arrested accused Farhan has been arrested and jailed in extortion case before. The arrested accused used to use different WhatsApp numbers to demand extortion from businessmen.
Raids are being conducted to arrest the fugitive accused Hasan. The process of further interrogation of the arrested accused Farhan is going on.
