Murad Ali Shah mobilizes water board and KMC to help CBC

Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has mobilised water board and KMC to help Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) to de water defence housing authority area and remove water from K-Electric sub-stations.
He took decision on Saturday after visiting DHA and KE head office and CBC office.
The CM went to KE head office where KE CEO Monis Alvi received him and briefed him about power supply in the city.
He said that out of 1900 feeders 1532 feeders have been restored. The DHA area has 60 feeders, of them 50 percent have been restored but 50 percent yet to be restored.
Mr Alvi told the CM that their 25 to 30 sub-stations have been submerged that was why their feeders have got tripped. At this the chief directed DMD water board and KMC to send their suction machines to remove water from KE Sub-stations.
The chief minister visited CBC and met with Administrator to discuss overall situation in DHA area. The administrator told the chief minister that water has been removed from houses but it was still stagnant in phase- 6 at Khaban-e-Rahat, Khayaban-e-Shahbaz, Saba Acenue, street 26 and other other avenues.
The chief minister then and there directed DMD water board to move four heavy vehicle mounted pumping machines to dewater phase-VI area. The CM and the CBC chief formed a coordination committee comprising Minister Excise Mukesh Chawla and Murtaza Wahab from Sindh government and two senior officers of CBC to install machinery to dewater the area.
The water board and CBC officers told the CM that they didn’t have long pipe to pump out stagnant water to nearby nalla. The CM directed DMD water board to get a shop of pipes at Gizri and purchase the pipe but “I want to see the machinery operationalise within two hours,” he said.
Murad Ali Shah also moved Irrigation officers dealing with drainage system to reach DHA with necessary machinery. The water board moved four heavy vehicle mounted pumping machines to DHA.
The administrator thanked the chief minister for his help and support.
Latter, the chief minister went to Tower to witness clearance of Moharram procession route where Masood Alam of KMC was present with heavy suction and pumping machines to drain out stagnant water.
The chief minister told the media that he would get the entire city cleared from accumulated water before the rainfall of sixth spell.
Me Shab told media that he had declared all six districts of Karachi division, Hyderabad division and three districts of Mirpurkhas division and two districts of Shaheed Benazirabad division as calamity hit areas. “The government just after issuance of notification would start relief work in the calamity hit areas,” he said.
