Prime Minister will have to play his full role to solve the problems of Karachi

Karachi (HRNW)- Provincial Minister for Information Science and Technology Taimur Talpur has said that he is well aware of the plight of the people, work is going on day and night for the rehabilitation of rain-affected areas, water is still available in some places. Work is underway for drainage while we hope the federal government will work closely with the Sindh government.

In a statement, the provincial minister said that electricity was not available but it was made expensive. We demand the federal government to reverse this decision. He said that after 100 years there has been so much rain in Karachi, only cleaning of 3 drains of Karachi will not solve the problems, the Prime Minister will have to play his full role to solve the problems of Karachi.

The provincial minister said that the recent rains have wreaked havoc all over Sindh especially in Umerkot. More than 60 per cent crops have been destroyed in Umerkot district. This is the time to serve the people and not politics.

He said that the country was currently in the grip of floods due to heavy rains. If the government did not take appropriate steps in time, human tragedy could arise in the country. The federal government should stop scoring political points and focus on public issues.

The provincial minister added that they have been serving the disaster-stricken people since the recent torrential rains, providing cooked food and tents to thousands of people so far, but much remains to be done. “We are not getting electricity but it has been made more expensive. We demand the federal government to reverse this decision,” he said.

“The rains in Balochistan and Swat also wreaked havoc. We pray for the people there, we are with all the people in this hour of need,” he said.
