Munich’s Suele now tests negative, Zirkzee positive for coronavirus

Germany defender Niklas Suele has tested negative for the coronavirus but remains in self-isolation after a positive test earlier in the week, his club Bayern Munich said on Thursday.

Suele is expected to be tested again over the next days which would decide whether he can join the national team for a friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday, followed by Nations League games against Ukraien and in Spain.

The defender missed Munich’s 6-2 win at Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday over the positive test.

Winger Serge Gnabry recently also tested positive, and then negative twice which led to speculation about a false positive in the Munich camp.

The Bundesliga champions meanwhile also said Thursday that their Dutch youngster Joshua Zirkzee has tested positive for the Sars-Cov-2 virus and is in self-isolation.
