Senior PPP leader Khursheed Shah released from Sukkur Central Jail

SUKKUR: (HRNW) After remaining in jail for two years, senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Khursheed Shah was released by jail authorities in Sukkur.

The former opposition leader in the National Assembly was released by Sukkur Central Jail after his son deposited Rs10 million surety bonds in the Sukkur Accountability Court as per the Supreme Court.

In 2019, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested the veteran opposition leader in assets beyond means case.

However, on October 21, the top court granted bail to Shah in the case.

A two-member SC bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, had granted bail to the former opposition leader against surety bonds worth Rs10 million.
