Pakistan warns Kabul after five troops martyred in cross-border attack

Rawalpindi (HRNW) Five Pakistan Army soldiers have been martyred at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border after they were fired upon by terrorists from the Afghan side, Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

The soldiers were positioned at the border in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they were attacked.

A ISPR statement said that army responded befittingly, inflicting heavy causalities on attackers.

It said 34-year-old Lance Naik Ajab Noor from Karachi, 22-year-old sepoy Ziaullah from Lakki Marwat, 23-year-old sepoy Naheed Iqbal from Karak, 18-year-old Sameerullah from Bannu and 27-year-old sepoy Sajid Ali from Bahawalnagar embraced martyrdom.

The statement said that Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil to launch attacks in Pakistan and expects that interim Afghan Government will not allow conduct of such activities against Pakistan, in future.

Pakistan Army is determined to defend Pakistan’s borders against the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve, it added.
The attack comes as security forces are conducting operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district against militants.

On Sunday, an alleged member of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed in Tank.
