Rasheed seeks 15% raise for all interior ministry departments

Islamabad (HRNW) The federal government has decided to implement a 15% rise in the salaries of Rangers, Frontier Corps, Coast Guards, and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts with effect from March 2022, said Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid.

Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Noshki on Tuesday had announced a 15% increase in the salaries of Rangers and FC.

Rasheed told journalists on Wednesday that the raise would apply to Coast Guards, and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts as well, while he was also seeking increment for other departments under the interior ministry.

He said the interior ministry has requested the prime minister to announce a pay raise for other departments.

The minister was speaking shortly after the Election Commission of Pakistan announced its ruling and disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Senator Faisal Vawda as MP over a false undertaking.

Talking about the ECP order, he said Faisal Vawda will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.

“He will exercise his legal right and will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court,” he said.

The election body announced its verdict Wednesday morning. According to the ECP, the PTI leader had lied about his dual citizenship.
