The duration of load shedding in Karachi reached 14 hours

Karachi (HRNW) The duration of load shedding in Karachi increased from 4 hours to 14 hours.

Prolonged load shedding is going on in different areas of Quaid-e-Azam city including Kharadar, Lyari, Nayaabad, Kemari, Korangi, Orangi, Landhi, Sarjani, Quaidabad and Qayyumabad.

Residents of New Karachi, North Nazim, Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Scheme 33 are also in bad condition due to power outage.

Citizens have complained that there is no electricity for the whole day and even at midnight the power is cut off.

A spokesman for Electric said there was no unannounced load shedding in the city. Demand for electricity has also increased due to the heat wave and is facing an average reduction of 350 to 400 MW.

He said that difficulty in procurement of fuel and reduction in supply of fuel was also affecting the productivity.
